          WHERE WILL BARANGAY VILLAMONTE WANT TO BE IN 2005 ?

         What does this Barangay want to be in the next generations to come ?

 

        In the 1999 "Branding" activity, Barangay Villamonte was adjudged as the "Center of Education and Culture" of Bacolod City.

 

        This was so because of the existence of premiere institutions of learning in the tertiary level in the Barangay. Toname three, these are the University of St. La Salle, West Negros College and the STI College.

 

        There are a number of prestigious private high schools and an equally well-known public schools, both in the secondary and elementary education.

 

        On the one hand, Villamonte boasts of so many banks and financing institutions, to name a few, Metrobank, China Bank, equitable- PCI Bank, Bacolod City rural Bank, Boston Finance Corporation, R.A. Finance and Lending Corporation, and still many, many more.

 

        On the business side there is a proliferation of large supermarkets, arcades and malls, to name a few, Lopues East Centre, Villa Angela Arcade, Mc Donald's and the Capitol Shopping Centre.

 

        Verily, Barangay Villamonte is outpacing all other Barangay in Bacolod City in terms of business, Finance and trade.

 

        Given this environment, this Barangay envisions to be a local government corporate body working towards the making a center of trade and commerce, of business industry, of quality education, culture and sports.

 

  -  to be a modern urban center where the engines of growth-trade, service, and construction will thrive and prosper.

 

  -  to be a center where citizens are provided the basic services of health, education and culture, and housing.

 

  -  to be a model of governance in the Barangay level, where all other barangays can look up to and emulate.

 

  So, how can we be the barangay we envision ?
