        Brgy. Punta Taytay is located at the southwest part of the city bounded on the northwest by Guimaras Strait, Southeast by Barangay Sum-ag and on the South by the City of Bago. Barangay Punta Taytay is 100% flat lowland and approximately 76.1601 hectares. It is 50% residential, 25% fishpond (19.040025 Hectares) and 25% beaches or coastline (19.040025 Hectares).

 

        Being a coastal barangay and a fishing village the people are dependent in harnessing the resources of the sea, with abundance of coastal resources and agricultural produce (such as coconuts and prawn). Majority of the people are fisher folks that rely mainly on traditional methods of fishing, others depend on oyster culture, tuba gathering, fish drying / vending, fighting cocks raising, and swine and hog raising.

 

     The place is 11 kilometers away and 35 minutes ride from the city proper. Means of transportation include private cars and public jeepneys served by the barangay accredited transportation known as the Punta Taytay Integrated Jeppney Drivers and Operators Association, Incorporated (PIJDOA),, Inc. In addition, trisikad  which are members of the Punta Taytay Trisikad Drivers Association are used when travelling within the Barangay or when going to the nearby barangays.

 

     Comprised of seventeen Puroks namely: Seawell, Masipag, Mabinuligon, Maabi-abihon, Mahinangkpanon, Masinulundn, Katilingban, Makawiwili, Paraiso, Orchids, Bayanihan I & II, Kapawa, Manga, Kaingin I & II, Maki-angayon (order from North to South). Purok officials headed by Purok Chairman and have a minimum of one year term; their re-organization is subject to the discretion of the barangay council.
