In the early part of the twentieth cenury; most of the land area that is now the territory of Barangay six was swampy and paddy; and it was entrenched by many different varietes of trees, most of them were coconut trees. Almost of the land area was owned by few prominent families of Bacolod City. Almost a quarter part was owned by the Generoso Villanueva family; a fifth part was owned by Tan Juan Gonzaga family; almost a sixth part by Alfredo Montelibano Sr. family through Capitol Subdivision Inc; the eight part by the Improgo family; the other quarter part was owned by Louredes Ciocon family; and the remaining parts or slices belongs to different lot owners.

As times go by, the land that were onced owned by these prominent families were subdivided and offered a sale. With the influx of many so journers in the mid 20th century, they settled in vacant areas, many of them are government employees. Years had passed, some had bought lots and until now still remain permanent residents of this barangay. And many others still remain as squatters and subject to be ejected anytime.

Before the implementation of the Local Government Code of 1991, of which the Barangay as the basuc political unit of the governments, had been provied with greater powers, roles, and responsibilities and one of the new names as of Puroks.

Here are the names of the puroks of Barangay 6 and its corresponding old name: Purok Macanpiña; before it was called Takas (Highland); Purok Magsanaya; it was called Ubos (Lowland); Purok Azucenabeforew it was called Rivera; Purok Masagana 99; it was called Jalandon; and Purok Pilit 1 and 2 was called Talamnan (Plantations); Purok Miracle; as Tangkongan or (Rice Paddy).

At the turn of the 21st century; the Ciocon family, with their kind heartedness and compassion, have decided to subdivided their land and offered to the settlers on lot acquisition for 25 years payment. The same as true with the squatter here at Purok Pilit 2, on the land which was originally ownd by the Lipa's family.
