Barangay 29 became the basic governmental unit in the nation’s political structure on September 21, 1974. Presidential Decree No. 557 created Barangay to provide popular participation in shaping up public policy. All powers, function, duties & responsibilities of Barrios. Assemblies, Council & Officials enumerated in the Revised Barrio Charter (RA 3590) were assimilated by the Barangay. On December 17, 1985 city Ordinance No. 08 was created by approving and adopting the recommended delineation of boundaries of sixty one (61) Barangay in the City of Bacolod.
