Before Barangay 19 is used to be a community with a very few population. What were mostly visisble around the area were sprawling coconut trees, thick grasses and bamboo trees. The pioneer inhabitanys the “Tumandok” used to call this place “Kalubihan”. The total area is more or less 4.8 hectares. Almost half of this owned by the late Fernando P. Yanson.
In September 21, 1974, Barangay 19 became the basic government unit in the political structure of the country. Presidential Decree No. 657, created Barangays to provide popular participation in shaping up public policy. On December 17, 1985, City Ordinance No. 8 was created approving and adopting the recommended delineation of boundaries of 61 Barangays in the city of Bacolod.
Barangay 19 was then divided into 3 Puroks: Mabinuligon at the Southern portion of the residential area were relocated.
In 1974, Procopio De Rajas became the first Barangay Captain and was succeeded by the late Jose “Popoy” Yanson in yhe first Barangay Election.then followed by Robert Moya, who was also succeeded by Yuri M. Yanson in 1994, who at present, is on his third term of office.
Year after 2007 after Punong Barangay Yuri Yanson stepped down from his office in his last term; it was succeeded by Jocelyn Y. Uychiat, his elder sister who won during 2007 synchronized Barangay and SK Election.
