The creation of Barangay 18, as one of the component Urban  Barangay of Bacolod City, about seven decade now. It has been existing from the time when its supervision was under the so called  “Kapitan del Bario” who was chosen by appointment by the virtue of the power of  local  City Mayor. Until such time, that the constitution of the Philippines declares that the smallest local political body, the Barangay should be governed by officials duly elected by its constituents.

 

            Our Barangay, as we can say has really improved a lot, because from Nipa to concreted houses, asphalted to cemented road, gas lamps and candles to electric lights, all these and with all the modern technologies, Barangay 18, has gone far from its existence.
