Bacolod City is located on the north western coast of the Province Of Negros Occidental. It is bounded on the northwest by the city of Talisay; on the eastby Municipality of Murcia; on the southwest by the city of Bago; and the Guimaras strait on the west.

It has a total and area of 16,145 hectares including strait and bodies of water & is composed of 61 Barangay, 640 Puroks. It is accessible by sea through the ports of the Banago, the Reclamation Area (presently 1, 160 q.m.) and the port of Municipality of Puupandan and by air through the Bacolod airport which is approximately four kilometers from the city proper.
